Together with the Na Pali, of all of the great things to do on Kauai, going to the beaches is my favourite exercise, as it is for most Kauai visitors. And for good cause! Because Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands, the shoreline consists mostly of soppy, white and golden sand beaches. 

Issues you are able to do and see at the Kauai’s countless lei of beaches: snorkel, dive, surf, swim, relax, view romantic sunsets – and things you possibly can not often do on the opposite islands’ seashores – find shells and see endangered Hawaiian monk seals.

 

All of Kauai beaches, as throughout the state of Hawaii, are free and open to the public. Lumahai Beach – This isn’t a swimming seashore, however it’s wonderfully romantic. Lumahai was the “nurses seashore” in the movie version of the musical traditional, South Pacific. And the hauntingly stunning “Bali Hai” seen in the movie is played by the majestic Mt. Makana of the Na Pali State Park considered from this North Shore beach. The golden seashore and rocky ocean listed below are beautiful. It is tremendous to sunbathe and wade within the shallows, however don’t swim. The currents are as treacherous as the seaside is lovely.

Kauai Hotels

Anini Beach Park – This is a very fairly, lengthy stretch of white sand with a coral reef protected lagoon perfect for snorkeling. Although Anini is on Kauai’s North Shore, the water is sort of always calm and clear here, and it’s a great spot for starting snorkelers who need to view colourful coral and lots of tropical fish.

Poipu Seashore – The crescent shaped seashore that fronts the Sheraton and the Kiahuna Resort is very popular with households and a Dr. Seaside pick.
